Our Lodge House is a charming detached early-1900s property within the 20-acre grounds of Thrumster House, and an short walk from the renovated Thrumster Station building which was once part of the Wick-Lybster Light Railway.
Sleeping up to four in two rooms (1 king size and 1 double), this fully equipped property offers modern comforts (Smart TV, Wi-Fi) whilst being a true rural escape just outside Wick.
Woodland walks taking in our walled garden and ancient broch can be enjoyed by all the family right from the front door - our grounds come to life with their annual seasonal displays of snowdrops, daffodils, bluebells, wild garlic and blue poppies. Our nature packs will ensure that children discover some of our beautiful wildlife.
Guests can enjoy use of a galley kitchen or take a five-minute stroll to The Smiddy - our local pub which serves up delicious home cooked traditional food with a warm welcome. Come back and cosy up in the Lodge House with our selection of books and jigsaws.
The Lodge House is within easy reach of the five lochs on the estate, where guests can enjoy brown trout fishing.
Thrumster is an excellent base for exploring the activities and attractions of Caithness, being a short drive from the amenities of Wick (10 minutes), Thurso (30 minutes) and John O’Groats (35 minutes). recently recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
All bed linens, towels, heating/electricity charges and firewood are included in your stay, and a washing machine is available. This property welcomes dogs.
