Thrumster House Bed and Breakfast
Thrumster House is set in 20 acres of gardens and woodland . This Victorian property is a former laird’s house with an Iron Age Broch structure in the grounds along with a walled garden and pond with a summerhouse.
The house was designed to host parties of friends who would meet to enjoy all the activities associated with a family run country estate. We maintain the old world ambience of a traditional sporting holiday in relaxed and friendly surroundings.
Enjoy sitting by the fire place in the grand entrance hall framed by a galleried landing.
You can also enjoy walks around the grounds and the surrounding woodland, and there are several lochs on which there is free fly-fishing for wild brown trout.
Thurso and the north coast are a 35 minute drive from the property. From here you can catch a ferry to the Orkney Islands. The famous Yarrows Archaeological trail is located just two miles away.
Rooms
There are two bedrooms which are used for bed and breakfast; one twin room with bathroom, and one double with en-suite shower. These are arranged around the gallery which surrounds the main hall. The house and both rooms have free Wifi.
With views over the grounds, The Wing Room has a double bed and an ensuite shower/loo. There are also books and a desk for your use.
The Twin Room has two single beds, its own bathroom/shower room and also offers views over the grounds.
