Thrumster has always been a magnet for the falconer, The pinnacle of this noble art is the peregrine falcon against the red grouse, the fastest gamebird on the wing. Our resident population of both ensures that the quarry is not easily taken, and the thrill of the stoop is not always followed by the kill.

North Yarrows cottage is equipped with a dog kennel and a hawk mews with both shelf and bar perches.
In autumn and winter, there are rabbits available, although they have been rather depleted in the last two years through disease, but are now recovering their numbers.
