Archaology: Two significant lithic scatter sites have been discovered in the Yarrows area, comprising tools, cores and debitage. Initial findings suggest a Neolithic settlement in one area, and Mesolithic activity in the other, only the third such site to be discovered in Caithness. Further study scheduled for September.

Foot and Mouth: Please be aware that there have been no cases of foot and mouth found north of Glasgow and that all of our sporting activities are available as per usual.

Extra goose-shooting has been acquired, to give almost 100% certainty of having some good goose flights on stubbles throughout most of the winter.

Duck
of many species are in abundance this year, and we have added more flight ponds to our already extensive range of watery habitats. Many young successfully reared. Please note that hard winters and heavy snowfall are rare in the Far North, and wildfowling is superb right through until the end of the season.

Our cottages have full central heating, and are cosy and comfortable at all times of year. We have also acquired an extra 1000 acres of conifer plantation for roe-stalking. Caithness produces some excellent heads - no charge for trophies.
